Find your model number on a Briggs And Stratton Engine
Knowing the model number of your Briggs & Stratton engine will make it easy to order maintenance or repair parts. The engine model number is generally the number stamped into metal directly on your engine. Some push mower engines come with a cover or “shroud”. It should be noted that these covers come in a variety of colors, sizes and shapes. Regardless of your cover the engine model number will be in one of 3 locations.
Lawn mower won’t start?
Mower ran last season and now wont start .
Most of the time this is due to bad/stale fuel .
Remove the old fuel from the unit. You can bring old fuel and waste oil to us for recycling.
Add fresh fuel. If your mower has a primer , prime a few more times than you would normally . Then try to start . If your mower tries to start but shuts off keep tryin as it may take a few times to get the fresh fuel into the engine . Call us for more information on this .

If you do cut your grass when its hot and dry , raise your cutting level to the highest position. Grass roots mimic the blade of grass. Longer blade longer root. The longer root can reach the deeper moisture helping your lawn better survive the drier season.
We have had several mowers come in this year with no oil in the engine. One was brand new . Oil is the life blood of your mower. Get into the habit of checking it every use . Also make sure you use the type of oil recommended by the manufacture. Of course change the oil at least once a season . It’s better than buying a new mower or engine !
A sharp blade cuts your grass versus pulling it out when it is dull. Ever seen a yard that looks like it just snowed on it? That is a dull blade. Keeping your blade sharp will keep your grass roots more healthy . We recommend sharpening at least three to four times a season. It’s good to have a spare blade too .
